Frame made for a 'Sant Jordi' gift.

It's tradition in Catalonia to exchange gifts between lovers on Sant Jordi (George) day, it's an old tradition but today the most common is that women get's a rose and a book and men another book.

In medieval ages only the rose, grown from dead dragon gore, was given to women. Nowadays it's common to buy the rose accompained with the catalonian flag ribbon and an wheat ear to symbolize both nation and the fertilty wish. Because I threw away ribbon and ear, the ribbon was horrible and I'm too young, I decided to give a painting extra.

I worked as hard as I could but at last and as always I was late. I could only use an unfinished frame version and an improvised photo to made an shabby book mark.


That's finally the finished frame, additionally I fill the gap with one of the sketches of the central image.
